To be eligible for the 190 visa, you must:

  • Have an occupation on the relevant skilled list
  • Obtain a suitable skills assessment for your occupation
  • Receive an invitation to apply
  • Meet the points test requirement (typically 65 points)
  • Be nominated by a state or territory government

The 190 visa application fee is AUD 4,770 for the main applicant. Additional costs include:

  • AUD 2,385 for a partner (and any child over 18)
  • AUD 1,195 for each child under 18 years of age

 

Processing Times

You can include eligible family members in your 190 visa application, such as:

  • Your dependent children
  • Other dependent relatives

After completing your studies, you may be eligible for a Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485), which allows you to work in Australia for a specific period to gain practical experience, depending on your course and field of study.

This is a 5-year temporary visa for study purposes. The exact length of your stay will be determined by your chosen course. Primary school children entering years 1-4 are generally granted visas for a maximum of 3 years.
